Everyone deserves a digital livelihood
The Problem
The digital skills divide is holding back millions of entrepreneurs worldwide.
They’re not reaching their superstar potential, when they should be.
Digital commerce can quickly boost their livelihoods, so their family, business and community can flourish.
Our Vision
A world where no one goes without a digital livelihood
Our Mission
We’ll train and empower a million digital entrepreneurs through awareness campaigns, quality programmes and digital and AI tools
… because everyone deserves a digital livelihood
From our Founder
It’s not a fair digital world.
Just look at the digital divide between the Global South and the Global North. The inequalities in the world are there for everyone to see.
It’s not fair that a third of the world is still not online.
It’s not fair that entrepreneurs in many countries in the Global South are not aware of the opportunities that digital commerce can offer them.
It’s not fair that some businesses have less access to digital tools to set up and grow their businesses online.
I want to combat this inequality.
I can’t stand idly by any longer.
So, we’ve found a way to do something about it.
“I believe everyone deserves a digital livelihood to allow their businesses and families to flourish giving them the security to afford quality and timely housing, healthcare, nutrition and education.
We’re just going to keep going until there’s a better balance of digital equality!
If you want to join us on our digital revolution, then get in touch.“

Sarah Carroll, Founder
Digital commerce is the future
After working with SMEs in the UK for over 15 years, and increasing some businesses’ online revenue tenfold, we realised that we could have even more impact if we used our passion, energy and expertise to bring the opportunity for digital commerce to everyone, irrespective of where they run their business.
With the technological advancement of the past decade, it is now possible to open the doors of digital trade to everyone, even from a mobile phone. And now with AI, we can move even faster.
Deserve Digital emerged from the work that our founder, Sarah Carroll, did with the UN after writing her book ‘Grow Fast, Grow Global: 6 steps to unstoppable international growth in the digital age’ to promote the potential of digital trade to boost the economy and SMEs businesses. This became even more urgent following the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 when access to traditional ways of selling were not available during global lockdowns. The uptake of e-commerce is now critical to the development of every economy in the world and it is our aim to do everything we can to close the digital skills divide.
Leapfrogging the digital journey
By sharing our learnings and expertise, we shortcut the journey businesses take to having a world-class digital presence, so they can not only catch up, but leapfrog businesses in the Global North using digital strategies and tools. We enable them to get ahead of the game in their own countries, poised and ready to take advantage of everything digital commerce has to offer.
By working with international development organisations, we have been able to extend our services to an even greater audience causing a ripple effect which cascades into the local economy. What started in the UK, moved on to Rwanda and has now been adapted across continents to over 15 countries in Africa, the Middle East and Europe.
We have a proven methodology that works in every country, with every level of digital maturity and has already helped more than 12,000 businesses on their international digital journey.
We are in our element when we are motivating SMEs. Seeing entrepreneurs around the world gain new skills and utilise the opportunities they have to improve their livelihood is what drives us.
We support the UN Sustainable Development Goals
The United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development has a plan of action for people, planet and prosperity to transform our world into a better place. There are 17 Sustainable Development Goals or SDGs.
Digital commerce can help us reach two of these goals:
SDG 1 - no poverty
SDG 8 - decent work and economic growth.
